TSteve Carr takes the directors chair in this sequel, which is again written, produced and led by Ice Cube.
The plot is about Craig getting sent to live with his Uncle because of rumors that Deebo (the bully that Craig beat up in the first movie) had broken out of prison. His uncle had one the lottery so they live in a rich area, but it doesn't turn out to be any better then Craigs real home. A Mexican gang is living nextdoor and does nothing but cause trouble. So Craig and his cousin Day-Day (played by Mike Epps) get into a whole mess of trouble the one day that Craig is with them.
The story is not half as good as the first movie. This sequel seemed more focused on the laughs. The first movie, while being very funny, also had a serious tone to it and included a few dramatic moments. This sequels erases all of that and just goes with the comedy.
While that does sound very problematic it is not all bad. The movie is very funny and is great on delivering laughs. The movie does seem a little empty without Chris Tucker in it but Mike Epps does his best and brings his own style of comedy and is very funny as well. Don 'DC' Curry is a load of laughs and so is John Witherspoon.
Much like the first movie this sequel doesn't really run on any sort of big plot and only runs on one small plot, in this movie it is getting money so that Craig's uncle can pay his taxes.
Overall, an OK sequel. While it is definitely not as good as the first Friday, it still holds well on its own and is a very decent sequel.
